Awesome CAU Party Celebrating 5 Years Strong!
Sat, 01/14/2012 - 11:23am — HannahFCAU turned five this month and to relish in all our successes and forward-moving momentum we gathered the masses at the Hidden Shamock's cozy back room for a night of fun, music and awsome guitar and gear give-aways.
Dynamite performance by Goodbyehome, climaxing with an all-special-guest vocal harmony on Things Fall Apart with both Ellis Clark (producer) and Christine Knodle joining on vocals, highlighted the night. You could feel the magic in the air!
Junction 325 performed an amazing set, as usual, as we continue to be amazed at the musicianship and creative delivery of original music that pushes boundaries and fills every hole in your heart withg the most goodness heaven and earth have to offer. We look forward to hearing more from this band.
Leigh Evin McCullough rocked the house to close out the night, with a band as tight as shoe laces on the first day of school-- showing the rest of us how the victories of the singer-songwriter can empower us all.
Leigh also joined Christine Kent, roots-rocker extraordinaire with a moving performance of Four Non Blondes' What's Going On. Kent's set also blew us away with her dynamite vocals, which can move mountains, trains and perhaps even entire cities. With the soul of Janis Joplin and a straight-ahead passion, she nailed it. Excellent vocals also came from both Sarah Wong (violin and vocals for Junction 325 and Goodbyehome) and Cathy Narvaez and Jack Duty of Junction 325 with complex, beautiful and soaring harmonies that stirred awe and magic. It chilled us (in a good way).
Musicians in attendance included Marke Lester, John Peters (performing with Hannah Frank), Elias Cooper (performing bluegrass-infused originals), members of the prominent and powerful Cobalt & The Hired Guns and more!
We raffled away Snark tuners, Martin guitar strings and 2 guitars! Thank you for 5 years. We can't wait for 500 more! Keep in touch with us and watch us grow-- and watch yourselves grow too!
Thank you to founders Michael Teach and Michael Narvaez, and the entire CAU Staff and Team, plus the hundred of local and national musicians connected to CAU, for all your hard work over the past 5 years!
