This Saturday Smokes with a Hot CAU Showcase 8/14!
Thu, 08/12/2010 - 6:26pm — AnonymousIt's time to check out one of the best CAU showcases of 2010...this Saturday August 14th come out for folk/roots with heart and passion:
CAU presents:
Jeff Brown Trio
"Love Songs for People Who are Sick of Love Songs." The Jeff Brown Trio features bassist Mike Roth (from Cobalt & the Hired Guns), drummer Paul Obis (from Holiday House), and musical force Jeff Brown of Goodbyehome who join to make their Chicago debut. Like Damien Rice without all the attitude, multi-instrumentalist Jeff Brown writes and sings songs from the heart, and knows right where to aim.
Iron Maiden is in his record collection, but that won't stop Jeff Brown from ripping your heart open with his smart and folky tunes as the former speed metal guitarist shows his “softer side” and explores Americana and country with his new trio. Walking across genres is a quite a musical feat. He seems ultimately to be working like a craftsman with the utmost care..
"He has a heartfelt woundedness in his voice. He feels what he sings, and it shows.” -Whitney Allen, Uncommon Ground
